Description bastiaf 2004-02-06 20:15:43 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: FreeBSD Ports
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 [FreeBSD] 20031106
OS: FreeBSD

To use "Folder" for "Directory" isn't good. Look at
man mkdir
man rmdir
man cd
man dir
man directory (opendir, readdir, telldir, seekdir, etc.)
man dirent
man dirname
etc.

There are no command like mkfolder, rmfolder, cf or something else.

And please look at ls, for example:
drwx------ 5 bastiaf bastiaf 512 Jan 26 22:44 documents/
d like directory, not f like folder.

I thought KDE is an Unix desktop. Why we need Microsoft terminology? And ... do you ever have an folder in a folder in a folder in the real world?

There are other manpages like "hier" and source code ... you will never find the word folder. Why this useless inconsistency? And I think it's not possible to change Unix permissions or outputs (ls for example) to the word folder.
