I'm happy that icons can be renamed inline in Konqueror.  This functionality should also be extended to desktop icons on the desktop.  Currently I can only rename icons on the desktop by right-click -> select "Rename" from the contextual menu -> renaming the icon.

You should be able to click on the desktop icon text and go straight to renaming.

Hint: You can also press F2

This works fine on KDE 3.5.4.

Bug closed. Kdesktop is no more mantained.
