I had the same problem, when using 2.6.1-mm1 and other -mm kernels, which contain ALSA 1.0.1 patch. The workaround was to select "Advanced Linux Sound Architecture" on Sound System setup instead of "Autodetect". I tried the workaround Sami recommended. - But it doesn't work to me. At the moment I use kde3.2 from cvs. Today 23.01.2004 there is no error message and cpu runs normal after startup. I can play music with noatun, but I do net hear any sound. All mixersettings are up and unmuted. *** Bug 73461 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 73050 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 73400 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** This problem is caused by the fact that ALSA OSS emulation is somewhat buggy and that arts autoDetect prefers OSS emulation over native ALSA support. Attaching a fix, verified to work here (Ark Linux 1.0a10 w/ kernels 2.4.25pre7 and 2.6.2rc1) with both the ALSA and OSS drivers for my soundcard. I also have this problem, which is very strange, because I disabled arts in kde control center. So what is creating this messages, although I have no arts running? This problem appears to be marked Resolved, but just today (17th Mar 2004) using the latest arts / KDE I can find it happened to me. |
