Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages

This happens on a fresh kopete install without any previous configuration.

I start Kopete, add a new account with the wizard, check the "remeber password" box and enter my password, everything fine.

If I quit Kopete now and start it again the password is missing, and it does not appear in kopeterc.

i'm not using kwallet and it happens with rc1, still a duplicate?

Yes, because the non-kwallet part is also affected, but you couldn't know 
that :)

There's currently a patch on the development list, because it seems to be only 
fixed on my local system, because I have more patches than what's in current 
CVS.

Thus, if my additional patch gets approved it will fix the issue.

(Formally I should reopen the bug, but I don't think it's worth the hassle for 
only one day if the patch is already there :)

CVS commit by mklingens: 

Commit my version of the KopeteAccount patch. This one turns the wallet
into a shared variable. The reason I'm committing however is the rest
of the patch: Carsten's commit from Jan 4th broke the password saving,
but somehow never got reverted.

We're still discussing some minor issues with this patch and some API
cleanups/code duplication reduction, but that is more a cosmetic thing
and less of a showstopper, whereas this one for sure is.

Coolo, can you retag the file? Otherwise password saving is still broken
for everyone not using KWallet.

I won't commit to HEAD, the cleaned up version can go there and get back-
ported to branch when tested.

Could you reopen this bug ? I have exactly this problem with Mandrake 10.1 Community.

if you open Kopete for the first time, you enter accounts parameters
and passwords in the "Configuration window".

Then if you do File-> Connect All, Kopete ask again for passwords even if they
were correctly given in the configuration step
