There is documentation for several kate plugins in kdeaddons/doc/kate-plugins. 
These should be proofread and updated.

Some have been updated. Remaining: insertcommand, openheader, textfilter, xmlcheck, xmltools

I have updated the kate-plugins/index.docbook, filetemplates, insertcommand, xmlcheck, xmltools in trunk.

Remaining: openheader, textfilter, htmltools

I'm working on documenting all plugins in the current versions of Kate and KatePart.

in kf5 all kate plugins have a documentation except replicode
