Would it be possible to put a close this tab button on the right side
of the tabbar as in konqueror?  In konqueror it is a small red cross
with some tabs in the background.

Somehow I every time wants to go to that red cross to close tabs in
konsole, but every time there is no button for that.  Seems like an
inconsistency between konsole and konqueror (if one can speak of an
inconsistency in this comparison....)

I just noticed the same inconsistency. I have konsole set up to
look a lot like konq, with tabs across the top. Today I went to
close one of the tabs and ... no close tab button!
