Description Gilles Schintgen 2003-12-23 18:50:13 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.94)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
OS: Linux

To change tabs with the keyboard two alternatives are predefined:
ctrl+] ; ctrl+[
and
ctrl+< ; ctrl+>

For exactly the same functionality konsole defines the shortcuts as
shift+left ; shift+right

I just filed this bug for konqueror because I prefer konsole's shortcuts since those are more intuitive and easier to type on my keyboard (swiss french). Of course, the important thing is to have some consistency between kde apps...
Besides, I would have guessed that '<' would switch to the tab at the left and '>' to the one at the right, but it's the contrary!?

Regards

Gilles

Agree. I vote for shift+left/right :-) (Then I can use two fingers instead of three ;-)

Cheers Jo

How often did we have this discussion already? Shift+left/right in Konqueror is not good if you focus a line-edit. And Ctrl shortcuts are not possible in Konsole because as a terminal application they must be kept available for input.
