One thing I've noticed is how all over the place settings for the kmenu are, 
and in addition just how many entries there are in the k menu.

Theres the menu editor. A stand alone tool for add/remove/editing the 
individual entries.

Theres the Menu updater tools, which is basically an automated version of the 
menu editor.

And then theres the 'Menus' setting in the kicker configuration which really 
only is for one menu, the K menu.

I propose these three things should be integrated together into a single 
configurator.  The menu updater should take the main stage as it is more 
useful for adding and removing applications for most people.  However the 
functionality of the original menu editor should be integrated into it so you 
can 'add' something the updater has found, then customise it, change its 
position in the tree and add things that the updater doesn't detect.

In addition the 'optional sub menus', 'show side image' quickstart etc should 
also be configureable here as they are all indeed K menu specific things and 
being in kicker configuration doesn't make a whole lot of sense.  while the k 
menu is part of Kicker, you can also access it any number of other ways and 
shouldn't be strictly viewed as kicker.

This would remove the confusing menu editor, menu updating tool entries under 
settings which should really be viewed as the same process in my opinion.
