Description Lari Lohikoski 2003-12-20 20:34:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

I have specified in Konqueror's customized proxy settings that proxy should be used only with few sites, to others connection should be direct. However, when I'm trying to use Java applets (Sun's latest Java) with these settings, Java tries to connect to remote host trough the proxy (according to Java console), which it shouldn't do - and which it in this case can't do as the proxy I'm using requires authentication.

I wasn't able to get Java applets running in Konqueror before I disabled all the proxy settings.

So the problem seems to be that kjava (or is it Konqueror?) doesn't know about customized proxy settings. Probably if the proxy is in any way enabled - even only with one site - it will try to use the proxy.

In KDE-3.2 there will be an option to use KIO for protocol connections.
