Version:           CVS of 12/12/2003 (using KDE KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages

When using the IDEAI mode of KMDI, I can open and close the tabs
using the mouse without any problem. But it crashes when I try to 
close a tab with shortcuts (opening it works though).

Sorry, I can't provide a backtrace atm.

This sounds alot like bug #73045. Assuming dupe, please reopen if incorrect (and a backtrace would be most helpful).
