Description jolo 2003-12-09 20:28:46 UTC
Version: 1.5.93 (using KDE KDE 3.1.93)
Installed from:    Slackware Packages
OS:          Linux

I think it would be much be easier to apply a filter criteria if the "Match any of the following" is selected by default instead of "Match all of the following".
When you add a filter against Spamm you add many chars OR phrases which are in some part of the Mail, so you can filter more Spamm in an easier way if you could define "OR conditionals" (Match any of the following) by default in filter criteria.
It´s more efficient to use: If (Subject == "hi" || Subject == "p0rn") than If (Subject == "hi" && Subject == "p0rn")
The first "conditional" filters more Spamm than the 2nd be cause, the second ONLY filter messages with both words, but the first one will filter messages with ANY of those words. With the same rule you can filter 2 mails in the first case.

(I know it´s a question of how good you are defining filter rules, but it would help a lot)

Thank you,
JoloX

I agree with this completely. My biggest single error is with not changing the filter default from "match all" to "match any". Match any is less restrictive, more likely and something that a person writing a detailed query is likely to be concerned with changing. Most of us are creating filters for simple needs, to put all types of email into a folder, or certain senders, or mail from a listserver.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
