Version:           kmail 1.5.94 (using KDE KDE 3.1.94)
Installed from:    Mandrake RPMs
OS:          Linux

I turned off the Preview pane (security concerns). To read a message, I double-click to open it. These messages are not marked as "read". 

Further, the color of the message does not change, and neither does the envelope icon. Nor does the "unread count" in the folder title.

If I look at another mail folder and then return to the folder where I read some messages, the "unread count" is finally updated.

When I exit and restart Kmail, the bogus "unread count" returns.

I am using Kmail 1.5.94 on Mandrake 10.0 Cooker, but this behavior existed in 1.5.93 as well.
