Description Peter Eisentraut 2003-12-06 14:35:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.4)
OS: Linux

One feature I found very useful in pine but miss in KMail: In the message list, there is a mark indicating whether the email was addressed directly to me (rather than just to some mailing list that I'm subscribed to). In pine's text mode, that mark is a "+" if I'm in To:, a "-" if I'm in Cc, and a space if neither. (Of course in KMail this could be a graphic.) That way I can easily identify messages that fellow developers address directly to my attention, and it identifies messages that belong to threads that I have previously contributed to (because then I'll be in Cc).

The webmailer IMP <http://www.horde.org/> for example calls them "personal" e-mails and shows a little face-icon in the folder index next to e-mails which have one of your identities in To, CC, etc.

You can simply add a filter which marks incoming messages, with a header [to] equals to your email adres, as important for example. Since this resolves your issue and is pretty simple, I'll close this as wontfix.

No, this is not an acceptable solution, because it doesn't work well if I access my email via IMAP and varying mail clients. Because the other mail clients do support this feature.

Ok. I'll reopen it. I don't think this will be fixed soon, but if someone provides a nice patch we'll consider it...

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
