Description Tom Law 2003-11-16 05:50:20 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
OS: Linux

It'd be nice to be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to "open message in new window".

Also, when creating a new filter, it'd be cool if the focus were automatically on the field with the dropdown arrow for choosing a folder. Or at least allow me to assign a keyboard shortcut for focusing on that field.

While I'm at it, how about shortcuts for "select inbox" and "collapse all folders"?

Yes, a shortcut for opening mails in new windows would be really helpful for people that switched from Outlook to KMail ... like me. ;-) In Outlook you just had to hit "Enter".

And: What about closing the separate mail windows by pressing the escape-button?

Please note that bug 59927 has just been closed, which is part of this wish.

Adjusting summary, since the first part was already implemented.
Comment 5 Ingo Klöcker 2005-06-06 00:08:13 UTC
This wish obviously only makes sense if "Create Filter"->"Filter on Subject", etc. was chosen.
Comment 6 Mike Williams 2007-01-11 16:23:59 UTC
Is this bug still open? It seems like most, if not all, of this functionality has been added.
Comment 7 Björn Ruberg 2009-12-18 22:43:16 UTC
Setting the focus is not implemented yet. Great junior job, requires probably just a setFocus() on the right object in the right place

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.
Comment 9 Luigi Toscano 2012-08-19 00:58:52 UTC
Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
