Description Marcus Hardt 2003-11-04 14:46:15 UTC
Version: 1.5.4 (using KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from: (testing/unstable)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 20030908 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21

When clicking on an attachment (.doc in this very case) openoffice comes up and views it.
In case I change the mail I'm looking at before office opens the doc, it seems as if the file in /tmp/<user>-temp is already erased -- why

When would you remove it?

Greetings, Stephan

Hmm, guess when the client app terminates.

Good question...
What about deleting when "leaving" the email but not sooner than say 30
seconds after opening the attachement?
It is quite annoying to open something in oowriter and wait until it starts up
only to find out that is has been already deleted because I continued to read
the next unread email in between.

Cheers,
L

This is basically a duplicate, even though there are some finer points ....
You might consider voting for the other report ...

(If Bug 39537 was implemented, then this could be considered separate, but right now, it seems to be the same thing.)

BTW, as way of a solution, couldn't something around "kioexec --tmpfile" be possible?
