Since konsole has been switched to support tabs, it severly flickers whenever switching between two tabs occurs.

This is especially appearent for sessions that have a colored background like midnight commander.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a mc.
2. Open another mc in the session next to the session in (1)
3. Switch between those sessions using Shift+right/left

Expected Results:
Switching goes smooth and fast

Actual Results:
For each switch, the background is cleared to white, then redrawn appropriately. This causes considerable flicker.

Bug 54230 seems to be related, however, it's not a duplicate.

I don't think that it's related, bug 58040 is more related. Common factor: QTabWidget

I have more to add: When switching to a desktop that has a transparent bg konsole (transparent with dark bg), the display area flickers.

Would that be a dup of this bug? If not, I'll file a new one.

This one seems to have been filed since a long time; any updates?

Fixed in Konsole for KDE 4.
