Version: 1.5.3 (using KDE KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

A timeout for dialog boxes which require user-input would be nice, if one leaves kmail running overnight or when some user input is needed and the user is not at his/her desk. This could be useful for the following scenarios: pop filter dialog box: if the 'ask for confirmation' is set, and there's no input for (say) 5 mins, the default configured value (download later) is applied for those messages, and the rest are downloaded/deleted according to the filters. This wouldn't hold back the messages which are supposed to be downloaded.

This could also be useful if a login attempt to a server failed and kmail asks for the password again. If no input is given till some time, that account is not checked for new mail, and the others configured will be.

The dialog boxes could be displayed again the next time mail is checked.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
