In the settings --> Accounts, there are buttons that let you move accounts up and down to order them how you like.

Ignoring the fact that they're reversed from actual order (yes, I think that's a bug, too), this order determines the order the accounts are shown in the bottom of the main window and for metacontact contacts (after saving the settings and restarting Kopete).

It should take effect immediately when you press Apply or OK, so that one doesn't have to restart Kopete for the change to take effect.
