Version:           1.91-1 (using KDE 3.1.9)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3 20030226 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.20-4GB

I think, the combo box with some cryptic hardware name is useless for the
average mix user as I am. I want to have a master volume slider on the kicker applet and a way to get the full version easily without that combo
box clutter. 

All that worked with 3.1, now it seems broken.

hrm... actually, on review my patch doesn't address the whole nature of this one... reopening, at least for now...
