Well, when I changed the colors of my theme, and pressed apply, all konqi process suddenly died.. I got a few konqi sigsegv reports, maybe because of preloading?

Sounds exactly like the KIconEffect/Loader bug.  I have a patch but it's 
incomplete and ugly.  I haven't had a single crash like this since applying 
the patch.

Correction, I get crashes elsewhere with my patch applied (it removes the 
previous crash but crashes in a new place - untraced so far).
