As I said this is a SuSE specific bug and therefore I close it as invalid. I just hope that the text color will be configurable in KDE 3.2. People who (like me) don't like the white on black can change this by adding the following three lines to the [FMSettings] section in the ~/.kde/share/config/kdesktoprc: ShadowCurrentScheme=-1,0,0,4.000000,0.000000,3,0,0 ShadowTextBackground=255,255,255 ShadowTextColor=0,0,0 This setting turns the shadow off and sets the text color to black and the highlight color to white. *** Bug 62003 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Subject: Re: New: font color is ignored (always white with black outline) (SuSE only bug)

Why did you report it here then?

So that other SuSE users who hit the same problem (and I'm not the only
one as you can see) know
a) that this is a SuSE only "bug"
b) how to workaround this "feature".
Thanks Ingo. How should normal users know anyhow it is a KDE or SuSE feature. They fsck up more things. Changing the Kmenu to propiarity SuSEmenu ShadowEnabled=false works also In KDE 3.2 the shadow can of course be disabled via KControl. But it's very well hidden in Desktop->Background->Advanced Options...->Background Icon Text. Bug closed. Kdesktop is no more mantained. |
