Version: 3.1 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs

It would be nice if the "new event" button on the toolbar was instead a pulldown menu with a list of event types.

It would operate similarly to the way that folders on the Konqueror bookmark toolbar work: click the button, menu appears, select from menu.

Currently, I usually click "new event", then click the "categories" button on the dialog, check the category (I almost never have more than one category for an event), and click "OK". It would be much quicker to select an event type when creating the event.

Suggestion, make the drop down query the template list and display a list of templates to create the new event based off of. You could then create a template with the type of event and catagory pre filled and the drop down menu on the "new event" would be a "new event using template xxx"

Also I would suggest adding the a menu with "new item" and "new item using template" to a right click on the calendar area instead of just duplicating the left click function of new item.

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.

I agree with Comment #1, that the dropdown menu should be populated with the available templates. I came here to file a similar bug when I found this.
