Description Charles Samuels 2003-07-20 06:07:48 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

When you print a document, but limit the range to only N pages, like, let's say you have a 15 page document, and are only printing odd pages. The printing dialog box (reasonably) shows that it's processing pages 1,2,3... Fair enough.

But the problem is that the user is being misled, when I first saw it, I thought "hey!, I didn't ask for those pages!")

Instead of showing that it's processing those pages, just show a progress bar. That way you even show a pretty graphical UI element :)

Thanks for the lovely work

Not straightforward to inplement as most applications do not know
in advance the number of pages that are printed. I'll keep this
bug open anyway, and see what I can do (don't expect a quick solution).

Michael.

KDEPrint in KDE3 is unmaintained and will have no more new features implemented. KDE4 uses the Qt print dialog instead. This request will never be implemented as a result. Closing.
