it's no attachment, it's a image/jpeg mail. I'm not kmail supports that. possible wishlist duplicate. quite special case I just attached the file in the normal way. I don't see that it is really a special case. It must be quite common to attach binaries without any sort of a message. Subject: Re: Attachment is dropped when forwarding empty emails

You try "forward inline", right? Of couse that does not include
attachments. It includes text only - hence "inline". Use the non-
obsolete and more robust "forward as attachment" to forward the
attachments, too.

*** Bug 73656 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** As of KDE 3.1.4 KMail honors attachments when forwarding a message inline. But not when the message contains _only_ an attachment and _no_ text. It is very, very difficult to instruct a novice user when he/she has to forward a mail as inline an when he/she can "normal" forward. Especially for migrating users two different forward options are very confusing. Previous to KDE 3.1.4 we used redirect to forward messages as with this feature all attachments where honored. But redirecting has disadvantages. Mostly on answering to the mail. Forwarding a message inline also has some disadvatages. For example you are not able to print the forwarded (attached) message. But there is already a rfe for such a feature on the wishlist in this bugzilla. *** Bug 74015 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** choosing the default forwad action in KMail 1.7.1 attachments are not forwarded at all cu ferdinand Ferdinand, please compare #60960 with #91132 and give your opinion. The problem mentioned in comment #8 has been resolved for KDE 3.3.2 (it's only broken in KDE 3.3.1). Even if forwarding "inline" does not include attachments, surely "redirect" should? Using KMail 1.7.1 and KDE 3.3.1, attachments are not included when redirecting. This was recently fixed for KDE 3.3.2 as well. How recently? I have 3.3.2 and this bug still exists. |
