*** This bug has been confirmed by popular vote. *** A solution which could be faster to be implemented would be, if you could customize the placement position depending on the icon type. For example, I perfer to have all device icons on left side of the desktop. If I could specify a default rule "put every new icon as close to the right side as possible" and the exception "left side" for device icons, this would help a bit. Perhaps the corners and sides as well as the middle of the desktop could be a suitable set of position choices for such rules. Is there any progress in terms of advanced icon placement in KDE 4? At least any plans? You can use multiple folder views in order to organize the desktop shell. If you specifically need something particular for it (plasma on KDE4). plese open a new bug report, but first try the new KDE 4.2 beta 2 and check out the great features already offered by it! :-) |
