Description Verdi March 2003-06-24 18:17:29 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.2)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

When browsing to websites with lots of animated gifs (and flash),
Konqueror become unresponsive. Example: www.detik.com and
www.kompas.com

I've tried with other browsers (opera and mozilla) and both have no
problem with the two sites.

Verdi

It looks to me that it is related to bug 23368. I am not sure what has been
done to fix it but konqueror sure still use a lot more resources/CPU on
animated gif/flash than other browsers out there (mozilla ...). For the record
I am using Mandrake 9.1 RPM.

As commented in bug 39693 it is not konqueror directly that use a lot of CPU
but X triggered by konqueror. konqueror uses only 3% CPU while X uses arround
95%.

Using KDE 3.1.94 (beta 2). Both sites work fine here - and I don't have a very fast computer. www.kompas.com is a bit slow, but then I never saw that much animations on a single page in my whole life!
