It looks to me that it is related to bug 23368. I am not sure what has been done to fix it but konqueror sure still use a lot more resources/CPU on animated gif/flash than other browsers out there (mozilla ...). For the record I am using Mandrake 9.1 RPM. As commented in bug 39693 it is not konqueror directly that use a lot of CPU but X triggered by konqueror. konqueror uses only 3% CPU while X uses arround 95%. Using KDE 3.1.94 (beta 2). Both sites work fine here - and I don't have a very fast computer. www.kompas.com is a bit slow, but then I never saw that much animations on a single page in my whole life! |
