In KControl->Sound and MM->Sound System, Sound I/O tab, set the samplerate to 48000 (and also try forcing 44100 if that doesn't work). I don't know if this will fix it, but it might. Sorry, this was a config problem. I had "custom sampling rate" selected, I think a setting left over from my previous laptop (it says "you may need to set the sampling rate to 48000 for a Yamaha sound card", which I had on my last laptop). I don't use sound players very much, at least, not demanding that they be precisely in tune! The human ear is very sensitive to even a very small change in frequency, actually :) I find it odd that this would be a problem, aRts should just resample it differently. Oh well. -Charles |
