Sentry Crash Report:

Description Bodo Eggert 2003-06-15 17:01:56 UTC
Version: 0.7.4 to 0.8.11 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Even with Settings -> Configure kwintv -> Acreen -> On Screen Display = never, the OSD is displayed. I suppose it ought to be undisplayed immediately, but since displaying the OSD will cause my X11 (XFree86 v4.2) to lock up for 7 seconds, it 's still there to annoy me.

This did not happen with the nv display driver (at least I don't remember), while it happens with nvidia (Geforce2) + tdfx (Banshee) and it happened in my previous installation using Xfree 3.3 SVGA server (only the Banshee), kwintv 7.4.

Just in case, I copied my configs to http://7eggert.dyndns.org/~7eggert/XF86Config-2003-06-15
and http://7eggert.dyndns.org/~7eggert/xdpyinfo-2003-06-15

Sorry folks, we're only fixing bugs in the rewrite, which is unfortunately coming along
very slowly. The old code is very buggy and dangerous to change without breaking
many many things.
