hmm, directory overlays aren't default afaik. Did you enable them? Can you compile with --enable-debug=full? Can you reproduce? can you use valgrind? Subject: Re: crash in lan:/ when browsing around On Fri, May 23, 2003 at 11:17:58AM -0000, Stephan Kulow wrote: > hmm, directory overlays aren't default afaik. Did you enable them? I don't know, to be honest. :) I don't remember enabling them. > Can you compile with --enable-debug=full? I think my packages have been compiled with debugging already. At least, my .xsession-errors file is quite large. :) > Can you reproduce? Yes. Clicked on "Network browser" in the sidebar, browsed around my server, (SMB, FTP, FISH), got an authentication error on the NFS protocol (although NFS exports from that machine are mounted on the local machine), browsed around the exports from the local machine. SMB wouldn't stop spinning the wheel (in the folder icon in the sidebar), which might have something to do with samba-2.999-pre3.0-cvs-alpha-whatever being installed locally (2.999+3.0.alpha24-2 to be exact). Debian unstable, just updated today, plus orth's KDE CVS packages (hobbiton.opendoorsoftware.com). I clicked on "FISH" (local machine) instead, bang, crash: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)... Hmm, is that nvidia GL?
I just want you to start "valgrind --trace-children=yes konqueror" and then do what you usually do.
But your valgrind seems unable to trace konqueror at all. Most likely because of the super optimized
libGL.
Greetings, Stephan
Can you still reproduce crash with newer KDE? Hi, I'll try (running 3.2.3 now... I plan on upgrading to 3.3.1 but I'm not sure when this will be possible). Thanks! Hi, can't reproduce any more. But I'm not running lan:/ regularly any more, I've been using only smb:/ in the past couple months (if any). Cheers Jens |
