Description Dik Takken 2003-05-12 12:22:43 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
OS: Linux

I have multiple 'screen' sections in my XF86Config file, for different display devices and color depths. But every time I want to switch to a different screen setup, I have to terminate KDM, login on the console, hack the XF86Config file and restart KDM.

Since KDM seems to be restarting X anyway when loading KDE (or any other DE), why not enable the user to choose which screen section from the XF86Config file to use? Simply have KDE start X and KDE by means of:

startx -- -screen <NameOfScreenSection>

It would be really cool if you can choose to load KDE on TV-Out from KDM.
