I think we can add a color we can select for a new Event directly, too. So than the Event was displayed in that color and we display the category color in a small sidbar beside two vertical lines of days/times and so. So we can better see two events that are in the same caregory and are under the other.
I hope you understand what I mean, if not ask and I will make a picture to show what I mean.   :)
