The fish ioslave derefenrences links when copying, while konqueror copies links locally as links. This is a bit inconsistent. It also means files might get downloaded multiple times when copying a directory structure with relative links. Please copy links as links by default. Thanks!

Copying file:/->fish:// and file:/->ftp:// dereferences links in recursive directory copy as well. 
So this seems to be a generic KIO issue.

Does this still happen with Dolphin 18.04 and KDE Frameworks 5.45?

thank you for looking into this. I tried with the current Neon (18.04 and 5.50) where the issue still exists.
