Version:           2.2.1 (using KDE KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS:          Linux

I have tried to play a Real Audio stream via Noatun two different ways. First, I went to the link on the web site hosting the stream. When Konqueror asked me what to do with it, I told it to open it with Noatun. Noatun then opens and Stream from play.rbn.com displays accross the bottom of the Noatun screen. There is no sound at all. If I tell Konqueror to save the think and then try to open it with Noatun, I get the exact same results.

I also have a wish for future releases. Please add support for MS Windows Streaming Media.

Could you provide us with some description of MSwin Streaming Media format???

Arnold,
Unfortunately, I am not technical on the programing
side, so I can not offer too much help with how the
streams are formated. Being MS, I am sure that their
format is probably proprietary, and will probaly have
to be reverse-engineered.

Reverse engineered? Uhh. Would be windows involved... 
 
And there could be copyright / licensing issues. Not good. 
 
Don't know what the state with realaudio is but I think the MS parts will not get into official kde 
until MS releases the format-description...

I play proprietary formats all the time in Noatun and Kaboodle.  Just install the latest Xine and use 
Ewald's patches so that it uses the Xine team's new broken API.

Bummer... Maybe MS will see the light one of these
days, and open up some of their stuff (We can always

hmm, closing this wishlist as xine supports the wanted formats and we are using xine-artsplug 
for not having to invent the wheel a second(third?) time...
