Version:           3.0.0a4 (using KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from:    Gentoo
Compiler:          gcc version 3.2.2
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.20-gentoo-r2

open a file, close it again. 
open it through file->open recent. close it again. 
try to open it again through file->open recent -> won't work.

Fixed in CVS, thanks for reporting. The reason was a behaviour change in KDE 3.1.
