I also have this problem on solaris 8.  The problem also exists for me in the
glossary.  I take it that all instances of &SuSE; should be replaced with SuSE
in the mean time.

Replacing &SuSE; with SuSE is not correct markup, but is an acceptable local only 
workaround to get past the problem.  The right place to fix these is 
kdelibs/kdoctools/customization/entities/general.entities pre-install and if you already have 
kdelibs installd, $KDEDIR/share/apps/ksgmltools2/customzation/entities/general.entities it's 
a simple switch of <trademark><acronym>SuSE</acronym></trademark> for  
<acronym><trademark>SuSE</trademark></acronym> (and similar for AOL and 
potentially others.) 
 
Already ixed in CVS HEAD and BRANCH for 3.1.1
