Description Degand Nicolas 2003-02-10 15:06:31 UTC
Version:           0.5.8cvs >= 20030131 (using KDE 3.1.0)
Compiler: gcc version 3.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.0 3.2-1mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-24mdk

If I add a new contact to OSCAR, he can message me but I cannot message him as he appears offline. If I save the contact list and restart kopete, everything works correctly

I can't seem to reproduce this. When I add contacts, they appear as online (or away) properly
in the contact list. Can you provide any more information as to how to reproduce this? Debug
output would be very helpful, if possible. Is anyone else having this problem?
I am using kopete_0_6_branch in CVS. (since I can't get HEAD to connect without crashing, I
can't test HEAD) Could this be a new problem in HEAD?

It was happening on a regular basis 2 or 3 days ago. But I have added a new
contact yesterday and it worked correctly (apart from the point that this contact was
in the "not in contact list" each time I restarted kopete until the first time it appeared
online). As I have not added another since then, I have not tested it furthermore.
Could it have been a glitch in the AIM servers ?

Closing as it seems to be a "glitch in the AIM servers" or a bug that was fixed. Multiple
people unable to reproduce. Closing.

For my part it happens like this. I add a contact in Kopete. It does not show line and I cannot receive
its messages. I am only able to fix the issue if I talk to the contact with a client which save the contact
list on the server such as Trillian.

Seems to happen only if there is only this contact for the metacontact. If there
are two contacts for this metacontact and that one is online (and seen), I will
be able to send messages to the offline contact.

It does not work exactly as I reported earlier. Will reopen a bug when I have
new data
