CTRL-C / CTRL-V insert into the wrong file, CTRL-Z undos changes in the wrong file, CTRL-F doesn't find anything.

Sorry, this is a KDE 3.0.x bug in part activation, the only workaround I have is to upgrade to KDE 3.1. If you use QEditor, you can at least copy/paste, although searching is not working.

Any hints how to fix this are highly welcome.

I remember when I first had this problem a long time back - it was when I upgraded to 
Qt 3.1.  A workaround for people using KDE 3.0 might be to make sure they use Qt 
3.0.x.

KDevelop is strictly KDE3.2 oriented now :)
