Version:           1.5 (using KDE 3.1.0 (RC6))
Installed from:    compiled sources
Compiler:          gcc version 3.2 20020903 (Red Hat Linux 8.0 3.2-7)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-14

for seemingly no reason and at seemingly random times, all my read messages will all of a sudden become unread.  its really annoyhing.  i don't know if it started with kde-3.1rc6 or if it started when i started using the "expire old messages" options for a lot of my folders.

Christopher, are you still seeing this with kmail 1.5.2 or later? If so, what kind of folders are 
affected by this? imap, maildir, mbox?
