by making the pty executable, I use kwrited in conjunction with "biff" and nmh's "rcvtty -biff" so that a new line appears for each incoming mail message.
this works well for a certain time but after a while new lines are inserted in the middle of previous ones rather than appended at the end of the history as one would expect. this is very frustrating since it makes it very difficult to find/differentiate new vs. old messages in the buffer.
