It used to show that preset though, but sometimes it reverted back to the "Scale" one. With the Fade animation, kwinrc contains "fadeEnabled=true". If I switch to "Glide", kwinrc contains "glideEnabled=true". If I then switch to "Fade", kwinrc contains "glideEnabled[$d]" and "fadeEnabled=true". Thanks for the bug report. However, Plasma 6.5.5 no longer receives updates or maintenance from KDE; active versions are 6.6.0 or newer. Please upgrade to an active version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one. In fact, with Plasma 6.6.2 (the current version) I do see "None" as an available option for Window open/close. If you need support for the version of Plasma you have installed, please contact your distribution, who bears the responsibility of providing help for older releases that are no longer receiving updates from KDE. If this issue is still reproducible in Plasma 6.6.0 or later, feel free to re-open this bug report. Thanks for understanding. Issue reproduced in Plasma 6.6.4. I'm not able to reproduce this in Plasma built from git-master or Plasma 6.6.4 on Solus. Under Window open/close I see None Fade Glide Scale Are you able to reproduce the problem with a new user, with all default settings? You can notice three things:
- The glide animations is enabled by default when ~/.config/kwinrc is empty (new config)
- When selecting "None", the menu actually gets set to "Scale".
- The kwinrc diff shows "+glideEnabled[$d]"
Yes, it's still Manjaro. Now, all settings show up correctly. But there's still a bug with the Window open/close animation setting not being applied correctly. I can reproduce it with a new user; I've attached a screencast of it with a new user. The easiest way to reproduce this is to: - Remove the scaleEnabled and glideEnabled entries from ~/.config/kwinrc and save - Open Animations settings Result: Window open/close animation setting is set to "Glide" instead of "None". Then set it to "None" and Apply. Result: ~/.config/kwinrc diff: +glideEnabled[$d] Glide animation still enabled. - Open Animations settings: Window open/close animation setting is now set to "Scale" for some reason. Thanks for the additional details, and the screen recording, that helps. In the recording: - Window open/close was set to Glide - Change the option to None - Chose "None" in the dropdown - the dropdown changed to "Scale" - Click Apply In kwinrc, viewing the diff of the change shows [Plugins] glideEnabled[$d] On git-master, I can't reproduce this. When this has been set to Glide and then I set it to None, `glideEnabled=True= is removed from kwinrc When I reload Animations, it's still set to None We've had other recent reports of settings not saving properly, looks like this is one of those. The developers will need to look into this. |
