I can reproduce the issue as well (on bare metal, not in a VM), I have the same locale set as Marcel. Operating System: KDE Linux 2026-05-15 KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0 Qt Version: 6.11.0 Kernel Version: 7.0.5-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × AMD E2-7110 APU with AMD Radeon R2 Graphics Memory: 4 GiB of RAM (3.2 GiB usable) Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 80TJ System Version: Lenovo ideapad 110-15ACL It's not even in just in English; the time is using the C locale, which is wrong for en_US users too. option to sync
In system settings -> login screen, there is an option, to sync your settings to the login screen, but at least for me, this fails in doing so for the keyboard layout as well. (at the very least, my cursor theme is not synced either)
I can confirm that syncing the settings does not sync ~/.config/plasma-localerc to /var/lib/plasmalogin/.config/plasma-localerc. That's an issue we can fix on the plasmalogin side; let's track it here. We should also figure out why the locale isn't set properly after initial setup on KDE Linux. For that, let's follow up in https://invent.kde.org/kde-linux/kde-linux/-/work_items/740. In progress with https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-login-manager/-/merge_requests/191.
