SUMMARY

It would be awesome if the user had an option to enable pitch-shifted audio playback (rather than timestretched) when scrubbing/fast forwarding  on the timeline - just like when you fast forward a tape. Vegas Pro and Edius are two programs that implement this well. The pitch raises as you speed up playback, or it gets lower if you're playing back at less than 100% speed. The current behavior appears to have a time-stretching algorithm that keeps the pitch constant when you fast-forward. For long editing sessions, where you are constantly JKL-ing (lots of rewinding/fast-forwarding), I find the time-stretching to be fatiguing due to the clicky artifacts. For those who have been editing videos for years, there is something comforting about the old school vibe of the pitch-shifted audio. This would be a tremendous upgrade an already superb program.
