Description Matti Pulkkinen 2026-02-03 20:04:37 UTC
SUMMARY
I have set the "Turn off screen" setting for "On AC Power," "On Battery," and "On Low Battery" to 15, 10, and 2 minutes respectively. Despite this, the screen turns off after 5 minutes of inactivity.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set "Turn off screen" to something other than 5 minutes
2. Set a timer and leave the system idle
3. Observe that the screen turns off after 5 minutes

OBSERVED RESULT
Screen turns off after 5 minutes even though none of the "Turn off screen" settings are set to 5 minutes.

EXPECTED RESULT
The screen turns off with the correct timing set for the given power regime.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Middle-clicking on the power management widget in the system tray to "disable automatic sleep and screen locking" suppresses the "turn off screen" function completely, and the screen does not turn off at all.
