SUMMARY

While creating a new note (or edit an old one) I cannot add additional lines to the note.
Before I could have notes with multiple lines like this:

Chistmas present
neighbor's kids

Now I cannot add a second note line in the note field when adding the transaction

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a transaction to edit it
2. navigate to the "notes" field
3. press "enter" or "shift + enter" to write in the next line

OBSERVED RESULT
By pressing "enter" the cursor leave the note field

EXPECTED RESULT
add a second line to the note

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20260128
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
Kernel Version: 6.18.7-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The function to press "enter" adds a line in all other KDE applications I tried...

thx

Hello. Just a fellow user here.
Usually for me (on gnome ) i can use either shift + enter or alt + enter depending on the app.

I am not on KDE plasma right now though. Perhaps that changes things.

Try that to see if that works.

Thanks for testing that!

Sadly I don't have a Gnome installation sitting around at the moment... - I take your word for it!

Do you use Wayland? Could this be a Wayland bug?

Hmm...

Did you try Alt-Enter? Another option is under "SettingsConfigure KMyMoney" select the Ledger icon on the left, "Data Entry" tab - "Use Enter to move between fields." If you Uncheck this, plain enter will add a new line in the Memo field, but you will need to explicitly check the "Enter" button to save changes if you are in any field where Enter would create a new line. In other fields, Enter will still save the transaction.

I tried "alt enter"- this doesn't work...

But your hint for the settings seems to work - will see if this is consistent, after a quick test this works for now!

Funny though: I never changed the setting - it worked before!

Anyway: Big thanks to you!

Cheers!
