does the application actually disappear after restarting the session? (In reply to Marco Martin from comment #1) > does the application actually disappear after restarting the session? No, it does not. I restarted it and the regular VSCodium entry, which I wanted to delete, is still there. |
Created attachment 189121 [details] Application entry doesn't actually get deleted nor hidden (AV1) SUMMARY Deleting an application entry using kmenueditor doesn't actually remove it from Kickoff if such desktop entry is located on a non-user-writable location. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open KMenuEditor and delete a default (located in /usr/share/applications or other non-writable dir) OBSERVED RESULT The entry doesn't get actually removed/hidden EXPECTED RESULT 1. If the file can't be deleted, it should at least be hidden from the user (and potentially un-hidable through some setting) 2. The entry shouldn't disappear from kmenueditor if the file still exists and is still visible trough Kickoff itself SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
