Description bugs 2026-01-31 18:53:51 UTC
SUMMARY
The volume control is not intuitive to use at all. It should be always shown, just like in Strawberry and with a quick mouse and click change the volume level as needed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to decrease or increase the volume.

OBSERVED RESULT
While the popup indicator that displays the current volume level appears, when you try to move it up or down with the mouse it closes again when you try to press and hold the mouse button to move it. Other times, without the popup indicator showing at all, if you move the mouse up or down and click, it changes the volume level. It has an erratic behaviour and it not usable at all.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kernel 6.18.7, Plasma 6.5.5, Wayland
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1

Thank you for the report!
I interpret that this report is about the slim toolbar's volume control (and not the default toolbar's). Perhaps it could make sense to always show it at least if the window is relatively wide. I haven't encounter the strange behaviour described here, but I really haven't ever used the slim toolbar more than just to quickly test some functionalities. Happy to hear if there are any hints for reproducing any specific bugs.

Weird behavior involving a popup is likely driven by the display server (X11/wayland compositor) and focus model (click/hover)
