STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Open Dolphin

Select any file

Copy it (Ctrl+C) or drag it

Paste it into another folder or another application

Dolphin becomes unresponsive for ~30–60 seconds

OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin freezes and becomes unresponsive for about 30–60 seconds.
KDE sometimes suggests killing the application.
Often the file operation does not start after the freeze.

Terminal copy using cp works immediately for the same file and destination.

EXPECTED RESULT
File copy or drag-and-drop should start immediately without freezing Dolphin’s UI.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Happens on both Wayland and X11 (QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb dolphin)

Disabling previews does not help

Restarting or killing xdg-desktop-portal and xdg-document-portal does not fix the issue

Terminal file copy works instantly

Logs show timeouts related to document portal and clipboard handling:

Document portal fuse mount point unknown: Timeout was reached

Failed to register file … Timeout was reached

QWaylandDataOffer: timeout reading from pipe

This appears to be a KIO/Dolphin blocking issue triggered by clipboard or drag-and-drop file handling.
