login window

Hello!
For some time now, I've been having the problem that whenever I start a file manager (Dolphin, Thunar, etc.), a login window pops up asking me to confirm admin rights (which I don't need at that moment). I just click “Cancel” to get rid of it.
When opening the file manager, windows from my NAS are affected in the same way as local directories.

But sometimes the message reappears that password entry is blocked for 7 or 10 minutes.

At https://forum.endeavouros.com, we narrowed the problem down to kio-admin / Polkit. The entire thread can be found here:

https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/es-taucht-seit-einiger-zeit-immer-ein-anmeldefenster-auf-welches-fruher-nicht-notig-war/77643/21

I don't know how this bug crept in, but it can hardly be intentional that you always have to search for or even edit files with admin rights. If this were necessary, I would request the admin rights myself.

I hope this annoying bug will be fixed very soon.

Best regards, R. Lehmeier

I am not sure what to do here. Clearly you have something accessing the admin protocol when the file manager starts. We are not in a position to change what you have configured on your system.

Does a new user have this problem?
