Description luzpaz 2026-01-26 15:03:42 UTC
SUMMARY
When using the 'Find Action' function and choosing any effect like 'Curves'; the UI give no indication that a prerequisite action is required: a highlighted clip in the timeline.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. ctrl+alt+i
2. Choose any effect. For example 'Curve'
3. Choose one of the curve effects

OBSERVED RESULT
'Find Action' dialog disappears without explanation

EXPECTED RESULT
Some orientation like a dialog box that indicates a clip in the timeline needs to be active. Or even better, ask which clip you'd like to administer the effect to.

That's not entirely true, as a red error message in the status bar appears saying that a clip needs to be selected.

I agree, that it would be better to have a dialog box with the message that the user acknowledges but returns them to the Find Action window.

Ok, to change to Wish List item?
