SUMMARY
it is discouraging that this shortcut alone can surprise users. the chances of hitting this accidentally is frustrating and not unlikely

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  meta-alt and simultaneous mouse-wheel scroll 

OBSERVED RESULT
changes desktops

EXPECTED RESULT
configurable in keyboard shortcuts or behaviour toggle.
